Course Overview
Each section of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam assesses different language skills. Here’s an overview of each section:
- Listening:
- Format: The listening section consists of four recorded audio passages, each followed by a series of questions. Test-takers listen to the recordings and answer the questions based on the information they hear.
- Reading:
- Format: The reading section includes three passages of increasing complexity, taken from books, magazines, newspapers, and online sources. Test-takers read the passages and answer a variety of question types, including multiple-choice, matching, and short-answer questions.
- Writing:
- Format: The writing section consists of two tasks: Task 1 and Task 2. In Task 1, test-takers are asked to describe, summarize, or explain visual information (such as graphs, charts, or diagrams) in their own words. In Task 2, test-takers write an essay in response to a prompt expressing an opinion, providing arguments, or discussing a given topic.
- Speaking:
- Format: The speaking section consists of a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner. It is divided into three parts: Part 1 (Introduction and Interview), Part 2 (Long Turn), and Part 3 (Discussion). Test-takers engage in a conversation with the examiner, answering questions and discussing various topics.
